Ida did a number on our regional rivers and lakes and even today Seven Points Marina on Raystown Lake has water in the store. Conowingo opened the gates and thoroughly flushed the upper Bay. Locally most of our waters were unfishable and resembled land mine fields much of the week but by week’s end the water semi-stabilized and fish were biting.
We didn’t fish at all because of flooding, then holiday, so our reports is meager. I will add that this week looks good for all waters we cover.
The following water conditions apply:
Suisquehanna @ Harrisburg: 5-feet and slowly falling with color; low 80s.
Junata @ Newport: 8.9 feet with color and steady; remember, this water affects the Harrisburg reading; low 80s.
Potomac River at Point of Rocks: 3-feet (down from14-feet a few days ago. Muddy but clearing fast;
Conowingo Dam: normal releases at about 50 KCFS
